Powertrain Control Module
Transaxle shifting and torque converter lock-up are controlled by PCM. PCM is located behind glove box. See Figure. PCM receives information from various input devices, and uses this information to control shift control solenoid valves and A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valves.
PCM contains a self-diagnostic system which stores a trouble code if a failure is present in transaxle electronic control system. Trouble code may be retrieved as a DTC (4 digits) or flash code (1 or 2 digits) to determine transaxle problem area. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
