Control Unit Input Test

NOTE: Before testing, troubleshoot the multiplex control system. See appropriate MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEMS article.
  1. Remove driver's side instrument panel lower cover and knee bolster. Disconnect underdash fuse/relay box connectors "B", "F", "G", "J", "X" and "Y". See Fig 1 . Inspect connector terminals for damage or corrosion. Repair as necessary and retest system. If connector and terminals are okay, go to next step.
  2. Reconnect connectors and use a DVOM to perform control unit input tests. See Fig 2 . If an input test indicates a problem, find and correct cause and retest system. If all input test results are okay, the multiplex control unit must be faulty. Replace the under-dash fuse/relay box assembly.
