Climate Control Panel Power and Ground Circuit Troubleshooting

Check the No. 30 (10 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
1. YES - Go to step 2.
2. NO - Replace the fuse, and recheck.
Disconnect the climate control panel 5P connector.
Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Measure the voltage between the No. 3 terminal of the climate control panel 5P connector and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
1. YES - Go to step 5.
2. NO - Repair an open in the wire between the No. 30 (10 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box and the climate control panel.
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check for continuity between the No. 1 terminal of the climate control panel 5P connector and body ground.

Is there continuity?
1. YES - Go to step 7.
2. NO - Check for an open in the wire between the climate control panel and body ground. If the wire is OK, check for poor ground at G504.
Substitute a known-good climate control panel.
Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Press and hold the OFF button. While holding the OFF button, press the rear window defogger button five times within 10 seconds. Release the OFF button. All the LEDs and LCD segments should blink three times.
Do the LEDs and LCD segments blink?
1. YES - Check for communication circuit DTCs (with rear climate control) (see COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION TEST (WITH REAR CLIMATE CONTROL) ), (without rear climate control) (see COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION TEST (WITH REAR CLIMATE CONTROL) ).
2. NO - Check for loose wires and poor connections at the climate control panel 5P connector. If connections are good, substitute a known-good climate control panel and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original climate control panel.
