Cruise Control Unit Input Test

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, 2002-04 models (see AIR BAG RESTRAINTS SYSTEMS article ) and precautions and procedures (see appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINTS SYSTEMS article ) in the SRS before performing repairs or service.

1. Disconnect the 14P connector from the cruise control unit.
2. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
   • If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
   • If the terminals look OK, go to step 3.

3. With the 14P connector disconnected, make these input tests.

4. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, the cruise control unit may be faulty. Substitute a known-good cruise control unit and retest. If the system works properly, replace the cruise control unit.
