Immobilizer Control Unit-Receiver Replacement

  1. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover (see DRIVER'S DASHBOARD LOWER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Remove the steering column covers (see STEERING COLUMN REMOVAL & INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the instrument panel (see INSTRUMENT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  4. Remove the gray connector lock (A) from the 5P connector.

  5. Disconnect the 5P and 7P connectors (B) from the immobilizer control unit-receiver (C).
  6. Remove the shift lever (see SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL ).
  7. Remove the screws and the immobilizer control unit-receiver from the ignition key cylinder (D).
  8. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  9. After replacement, check the immobilizer system.
