Backlash Inspection

NOTICE: Connecting battery voltage to either the right or left clutch electromagnet coils for more than 3 minutes will damage the rear differential.





1. Install the left rear driveshaft, then connect the battery power to the No. 1 terminal of the left clutch electromagnetic coil 2P connector (A) and ground to the No. 2 terminal.
2. Check the backlash of the companion flange (B) with a dial indicator (C).
Standard: 1.23 - 2.38 mm (0.048 - 0.094 inch)
3. If the backlash is not within the standard, replace the rear differential.
