Driver's Under-dash Fuse/Relay Box (MICU) Removal and Installation: Installation

NOTE: The driver's MICU which is part of the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is a component of the immobilizer system. Because of this construction, the driver's MICU must be registered when the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, or the vehicle will not start.
  1. Install the relays and connect the connectors to the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, then install the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box in the reverse order of removal.
  2. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
  3. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ).
  4. If the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, go to next step. If the original driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is installed, go to  10 .
    NOTE: The imoes unit is built into the driver's MICU which is part of the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box. Because of this construction, the imoes must be registered, or the vehicle will not start.
  5. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).
  6. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  7. Select IMMOBI from the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, then select IMMOBILIZER SETUP.
  8. Select the REPLACE MPCS/MICU/IMOES, then select a suitable menu from the HDS indications.
  9. After registration, confirm that the vehicle will start.
  10. Confirm that all systems work properly.


NOTE: The driver's MICU which is part of the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is a component of the immobilizer system. Because of this construction, the driver's MICU must be registered when the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, or the vehicle will not start.

  4. If the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is replaced, go to next step. If the original driver's under-dash fuse/relay box is installed, go to  10.
  5. Connect the HDS to the data link connector (DLC).
  6. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
  7. Select IMMOBI from the SYSTEM SELECTION MENU, then select IMMOBILIZER SETUP.
  8. Select REPLACE MPCS/MICU/IMOES, then select the suitable menu from the HDS indications.
  9. After registration, confirm that the vehicle will start.
  10. Confirm that all systems work properly.
