DTC 1301: GPS Antenna Error

NOTE:
- Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
- This navigation DTC sets when there are poor connectors or loose terminals at the GPS antenna connector or an open in GPS antenna lead.
- Before you troubleshoot, make sure to follow the General Troubleshooting Information (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
- Make sure the vehicle is parked outside, away from buildings.
- Aftermarket electronic devices located near the navigation unit or GPS antenna can potentially interfere with the operation of the navigation system.
- Clear the hard error code (see HOW TO CLEAR ERROR HISTORY ).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
- Check for the hard error code (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY (NAVIGATION DTCS)
).
Is DTC 1301 indicated?
YES -Go to next step.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Check for poor connections or loose terminals at navigation unit connector E (2P) and the GPS antenna 2P connector..
- Clear the hard error code.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
- Check for the hard error code.
Is DTC 1301 indicated?
YES -Go to next step.
NO -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Replace a known-good GPS antenna (see GPS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Clear the hard error code.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II).
- Check for the hard error code.
Is DTC 1301 indicated?
YES -Check the antenna lead for an open or short to ground between the navigation unit and the GPS antenna. If OK, replace the navigation unit (see NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
NO -Replace the original GPS antenna (see GPS ANTENNA REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
