'08-11 Models

  1. Remove the audio unit (see AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ) or audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
  2. Remove the front passenger's airbag (see FRONT PASSENGER'S AIRBAG REPLACEMENT ).
  3. Remove the bolt (A), and remove the nut (B).
  4. Remove the imoes unit (C) from the bracket (D).
  5. Disconnect the 5P connector (A) from the imoes unit (B).
  6. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
    • If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary and recheck the system.
    • If the terminals look OK, go to step  7.
  7. With the connectors still disconnected, make these input tests at the connector.
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, replace the IMOES Unit, then do the imoes unit registration with the HDS, and make sure the immobilizer indicator blinks correctly.
