Evaporator Temperature Sensor Test

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2015 Honda Crosstour, 2014 Honda Crosstour, 2013 Honda Crosstour, 2012 Honda Crosstour, and 2011 Honda Accord Crosstour. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Before testing the sensor, check for climate control DTCs (see HOW TO CHECK FOR DTCS WITH THE HDS  ).
  1. Remove the evaporator temperature sensor (see EVAPORATOR CORE REPLACEMENT  ).
  2. Dip the sensor in ice water, and measure the resistance between its terminals.

  3. Then pour warm water on the sensor, and check for a change in the resistance.
  4. Compare the resistance readings with the specifications shown in the graph; the resistance should be within the specifications.

  5. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the evaporator temperature sensor (see EVAPORATOR CORE REPLACEMENT  ).
