Back-up Light Switch Test
- Disconnect the back-up light switch connector (A).

- Check for continuity between the back-up light switch 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be continuity when the shift lever is only in reverse.
- If the test result is OK, go to step 5.
- If the test result is faulty, go to step 3.

- Remove the back-up light switch (A). Check for continuity between back-up light switch 2P connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be continuity when the actuator (B) is pressed, and no continuity when the actuator is released.
NOTE:
- If you apply liquid gasket P/N 08718-0012, the component must be installed within 4 minutes.
- If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply new liquid gasket.

- Apply liquid gasket (P/N 08717-0004, 08718-0001, 08718-0012, 08718-0003 or 08718-0009) to the threads of the back-up light switch, and install it on the transmission housing.
- Connect the back-up light switch 2P connector.
