Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Toyota Tacoma. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK DLC3
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in RESULT REFERENCE .

NOTE: When the measured value is 132 or more and a CAN communication system diagnostic code is output, there may be a fault other than a disconnection of the DLC3 sub bus line. For that reason, troubleshooting should be performed again from "How to Proceed with Troubleshooting" after repairing the trouble area.

B: REPAIR OR REPLACE DLC3 BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)

    A: Go to next step

  2. CHECK CAN MAIN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (ECM - CAN J/C)
    1. Disconnect the connector (E7) from the ECM.

      • Stop light switch OFF
      108 to 132 ohms

    OK: REPLACE ECM

    NG: Go to next step

  3. INSPECT CAN J/C
    1. Disconnect the CAN main bus line connector (J10) from the CAN J/C.

      NOTE:
      • Before disconnecting the connector, make a note of where it is connected.
      • Reconnect the connector to its original position.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value in CONNECTOR TERMINAL RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION .
