Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BATTERY) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the E7 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION .

      Standard Voltage (1GR-FE) 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      PI (E7-18) - Body ground Ignition ON 10 to 14 V

      Standard Voltage (2TR-FE) 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      PI (E7-18) - Body ground Ignition ON 10 to 14 V

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

    NG: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the E7 ECM connector.
    3. Disconnect the combination meter C9 connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION .

      Standard Resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      C9-24 - PI (E7-18) Always Below 1Ω
      C9-24 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Reconnect the combination meter connector.
    6. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - ECM)

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the C9 combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION .

      Standard Voltage 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specification
      C9-21 - Body ground Ignition ON 10 to 14 V
    3. Reconnect the combination meter connector.

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - BATTERY)

    OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
