CKP Sensor Replacement

  1. Move the auto-tensioner to remove tension from the drive belt, then remove the belt:

    J35A9 engine (see DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT )

    J35Z1 engine (see DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT )

  2. Remove the crankshaft pulley:

    J35A9 engine (see CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION )

    J35Z1 engine (see CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION )

  3. Remove the upper and lower front covers from the engine:

    J35A9 engine (see step 9 under TIMING BELT REMOVAL )

    J35Z1 engine (see step 9 under TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT )

  4. Remove the CKP sensor (A) from the oil pump.

  5. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
  6. Do the CKP pattern clear/CKP pattern learn procedure (see CRANK (CKP) PATTERN CLEAR/CRANK (CKP) PATTERN LEARN ).
