Immobilizer Control Unit-Receiver Registration
NOTE:
- Do this procedure after replacing the immobilizer control unit-receiver or the steering lock. If this procedure is not done, the engine will hot start.
cause problems with transponder operation.
- The HDS is required to register the immobilizer keys to the immobilizer control unit-receiver.
- The PCM code is required to do the immobilizer control unit-receiver registration. To get the PCM code, go to the i N, select service, select vehicle information, then select immobilizer code inquiry.
- Only the keys used during the registration procedure will start the vehicle.
- Connect the HDS to the data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the ECM/PCM. If it does not communicate, troubleshoot the DLC circuit (see DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- From the HDS SYSTEM SELECT menu, select IMMOBILIZER.
- From the Mode Menu screen, select Immobilizer Setup.
- From the Immobilizer Test Mode Menu screen, select Replace Immobilizer Receiver/Control Unit.
- From the Replace Immobilizer Receiver/Control Unit screen, select Begin to Register Keys in the new Immobilizer Receiver/Control Unit, and follow the screen prompts
