ECM Replacement
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2005 Honda S2000, 2004 Honda S2000, 2003 Honda S2000, 2002 Honda S2000, and 2001 Honda S2000. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
- Remove the left side kick panel (A) to expose the ECM (B).
- Remove the two bolts from the ECM.
- Disconnect the ECM connectors.
- Install the ECM in the reverse order of removal.
- Connect the HDS to the DLC (A) located under the passenger's side of dashboard (2000-2001 models) or behind the driver's side of the front console (2002-2005 models).

- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).NOTE: If DTC P0630 "VIN Not Programmed or Mismatch" is stored at this time, ignore it and continue this procedure (2004-2005 models).
- Input the VIN to the ECM with the HDS.
- Rewrite the immobilizer code with the ECM replacement procedure in the HDS; it allows you to start the engine.
- Reset the ECM with the HDS.
- Do the ECM idle learn procedure (see IDLE SPEED INSPECTION ).
