DTC P0336: Range/Performance Problem in Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Circuit: General Description
The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor detects the number of revolutions of the crankshaft and sends a pulsing signal to the powertrain control module (PCM). The PCM converts the pulsing signal into a engine speed. If the engine speed measured by the CKP sensor is lower than the value that is estimated based on the drive pulley speed, a malfunction in the CKP sensor is detected and a DTC is stored.
