DTC U0155: F-CAN Malfunction (PCM-Gauge Control Module)
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Clear the DTC with the HDS.
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0155 indicated?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the gauge control module and the PCM. ■
- Check for body electrical DTCs in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.
Is DTC B1168, B1169 and/or B1178 indicated?
YES - Go to step 5.
NO - Do GAUGE CONTROL MODULE INPUT TEST ). ■
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
- Remove the gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ).
- Disconnect gauge control module connector A (32P).
- Disconnect PCM connector A (49P).
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal A48 and body ground gauge control module 32P connector terminal No. 30.
Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 11.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the PCM (A48) and the gauge control module, then Go to step 12.
- Check for continuity between PCM connector terminal A48 and gauge control module 32P connector terminal No. 29.
Is there continuity?
YES - Substitute a known-good gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ), then go to step 12 and recheck. If DTC U0155 is not indicated, replace the original gauge control module (see GAUGE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT ), then go to step 12.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the PCM (A49) and the gauge control module, then Go to step 12.
- Reconnect all connectors.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Reset the PCM with the HDS.
- Do PCM IDLE LEARN PROCEDURE .
- Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
Is DTC U0155 indicated?
YES - Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the gauge control module and the PCM, then Go to step 1.
NO - Troubleshooting is complete. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting. ■
