Oil Pump Overhaul: Installation

  1. Clean the O-ring groove and the mating surface of the engine block.
  2. Install the oil pump (A) with a new O-ring (B).

  3. Install the oil screen (C) with a new gasket (D).
  4. Install the oil pan (see CKP PULSE PLATE REPLACEMENT ).
  5. Support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
  6. Remove the engine support hanger and the support eyelet from the cylinder block.

  7. Install the auto-tensioner (see DRIVE BELT AUTO-TENSIONER REPLACEMENT ).
  8. Install the cam chain (see CAM CHAIN INSTALLATION ).
  9. Remove the jack and the wood block from under the oil pan.
  10. Install the cowl cover and the under-cowl panel see (COWL COVER REPLACEMENT ).
