MICU Input Test (2012 - 2013)

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  NOTE:
  • Refer to the Electrical Wiring Diagrams for the location of the under-dash fuse/relay box connectors.
  • Before testing, check for DTCs. If any DTCs are indicated, troubleshoot the indicated DTCs first.

1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).

2. Disconnect under-dash fuse/relay box connectors A, B, D, K, M, Q, and W - Refer to: Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation (KA models with Keyless Access System), or Under-Dash Fuse/Relay Box Removal and Installation (KA KX models without Keyless Access System) .

NOTE:  All connector views are shown from wire side of female terminals.

3. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.

  • If the terminals are bent, loose, or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
  • If the terminals are OK, go to step 4.

4. With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:

  • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
  • If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
K1 BLU Disconnect the climate control unit 32P connector Check for continuity between terminal K1 and climate control unit 32P connector terminal No. 27: There should be continuity. An open in the B-CAN wire
K2 PNK   Check for continuity between terminal K2 and climate control unit 32P connector terminal No. 26: There should be continuity.
K1 BLU Disconnect the immobilizer-keyless control unit 7P connector Check for continuity between terminal K1 and immobilizer-keyless control unit 7P connector terminal No. 5: There should be continuity. An open in the B-CAN wire
K2 PNK   Check for continuity between terminal K2 and immobilizer-keyless control unit 7P connector terminal No. 4: There should be continuity.
