ATEQ TPMS Reset Procedure

NOTE: When a tire pressure sensor or control unit is replaced, or a known good wheel is substituted, the ID(s) of all four tires' sensors must be memorized by the TPMS control unit. After memorizing the sensor ID(s) or doing a tire rotation, the mounting location of sensors 1, 2, 3 and 4 must be determined. When the "activate sensor" signal is sent to each wheel in sequence, the tire pressure sensors can be located by the reaction sensor number.
NOTE: To ensure the control unit memorizes the correct ID, the vehicle with the new sensor must be at least 3 m (10 ft.) away from any other TPMS pressure sensor not installed on that vehicle.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Set the tire pressure of all wheels to pressure specified on the tire and loading information label.
  3. Wait for 5 minutes for the tire pressure sensor to enter "sleep mode".
  4. Select "Reset TPM System" on the TPMS3.
  5. Hold the TPMS3 against the side wall of the tire, within 3 inches of the valve stem. Press TEST button on the TPMS3 and read each of the sensor IDs in the following order: left front, right front, left rear, and right rear.
  6. Connect the TPMS3 OBDII module to the Data Link Connector (DLC) located under the driver's side of the instrument panel.
  7. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Do not start engine.
  8. When screen prompts to "CONNECT OBDII MODULE", press "Y" button on the TPMS3 to transmit sensor IDs.
  9. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect the TPMS3 from DLC.
  10. Test Drive the vehicle at 28 mph (45 km/h) or more for at least one minute. Monitor the low pressure indicator to be certain it doen not blink.
