Audio-Navigation Unit Removal/Installation
NOTE:
- Put on gloves to protect your hands.
- Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts.
- Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Eject the discs before removing the audio-navigation unit to prevent damaging the CD/DVD player's load mechanism.
- If you are replacing the audio-navigation unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), then enter them into the new audio-navigation unit.
- There are three different audio-navigation unit trim levels:
- With rear entertainment Ultrawide RES type
- With rear entertainment RES type
- Without rear entertainment
If you are substituting a known-good audio-navigation unit (with HDD), you must substitute the same trim level. For example, if the vehicle has rear entertainment Ultrawide RES type, use a known-good audio-navigation unit for vehicles with rear entertainment Ultrawide RES type. If you use the wrong audio-navigation unit, it may cause a diagnosis error.
- If the audio-navigation unit is replaced or disconnected, a Map Matching must be done (see MAP MATCHING ).
- Make sure you have the 5-digit anti-theft code.
- Remove these items:
- Center middle panel (see INSTRUMENT VISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Passenger's middle panel (see PASSENGER'S MIDDLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Center panel (see PASSENGER'S MIDDLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Center lower console (see RADIO POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION )
- Remove the bolts (A) and bolts (B), then pull the audio-navigation switch panel (C) out.
- Disconnect the connectors and remove the audio-navigation unit (D).NOTE: There is a lever lock on connector A (E) (see LEVER-LOCKED CONNECTOR ).
- Remove the bolts (A) and the brackets (B).
- Remove the screws, then remove the audio-navigation switch panel (C) from the audio-navigation unit (D).NOTE: If you are replacing the audio-navigation unit, remove the HDD (see HDD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Install the audio-navigation unit in the reverse order of removal.NOTE: Check any official Honda service website for more service information about patches for the navigation system. Apply any prescribed patches to the new audio-navigation unit.
- Park the vehicle outside, and do the GPS Initialization (see GPS INITIALIZATION ).
- Give the new anti-theft code to the customer if the audio-navigation unit is replaced.
