July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Navigation cannot control HVAC by voice command

NOTE:
  • Check the vehicle battery condition first (see BATTERY TEST ).
  • Verify that the correct audio-navigation unit is installed for this model. Go into the System Diagnostic Mode (see SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC MODE ), and use Version (see VERSION ).
  • Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
  • Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.
  • Check any official Honda service website for more service information about the navigation system.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
  2. Pressing the TALK button, then give a voice command "Climate control" clearly in a natural speaking voice.

    Does the HVAC system turn on by the voice command? 

    YES  -Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

    NO  -Go to step 3.

  3. Check the hard error code (see HOW TO CHECK ERROR HISTORY (NAVIGATION DTCS)  ).

    Are there any navigation DTCs indicated? 

    YES  -Troubleshoot the indicated navigation DTC(s).

    NO  -Go to step 4.

  4. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
  5. Disconnect audio-navigation unit connector F (20P) and climate control unit connector A (28P).
  6. Check for continuity between audio-navigation unit connector F (20P) terminals No. 5 and No. 16 and front climate control unit connector A (28P) terminals No. 26 and No. 28 respectively.

    Is there continuity? 

    YES  -Go to step 9.

    NO  -Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio-navigation unit and the climate control unit.

  7. Substitute a known-good climate control unit (see SUNLIGHT SENSOR REPLACEMENT ). Reconnect all connectors, and recheck.

    Does the symptom go away? 

    YES  -Replace the original climate control unit (see SUNLIGHT SENSOR REPLACEMENT ).

    NO  -Replace the audio-navigation unit (see AUDIO-NAVIGATION UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION  ).
