Cruise Control Input Test
- Connect the HDS to the DLC(see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
- Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the powertrain control module (PCM). If it doesn't communicate, troubleshoot the DLC circuit (see DLC CIRCUIT TROUBLESHOOTING ).
- Check for and troubleshooting any DTCs (see GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING INFORMATION ).
- Do the following tests while monitoring parameters in the PGM-FI DATA LIST with the HDS.
- If all the input tests prove OK, replace the PCM (see PCM REPLACEMENT ).
NOTE:
Intermittent failures are often caused by loose circuit connections. While monitoring cruise control inputs, flex their circuit wires, and note if any of the test results change.
