Motor Power Inverter (MPI) Module Removal/Installation

  1. Remove the phase motor currrent sensor.
  2. Remove the MCM. Motor Control Module (MCM) Removal/Installation 
  3. Remove the terminal cover (A, B), then remove the busbar (C) fromm the MPI Module.

  4. Remove the busbars (A, B) from the DC-DC converter.

  5. Remove the clips on the harness (A, B) then remove the MCM bracket (C).

  6. Disconnect the MPI module connector (A).

  7. Remove the bolts (B) and the MPI module (C).
  8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE: If the IMA battery level gauge displays no level, start the engine, and hold the engine speed between 3,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm without load (CVT in P or N, M/T in neutral) until the level gauge will display at least half charged level.
