Motor Power Inverter (MPI) Module Removal/Installation
- Put on insulated gloves and use insulated tools to protect you from electrical shock.
- IMA components are located in this area. The IMA is a high-voltage system. You must be familiar with the IMA system before working on or around it. Make sure you have read the IMA service precautions before doing repairs or service.
- Remove the phase motor currrent sensor.
- Remove the MCM. Motor Control Module (MCM) Removal/Installation
- Remove the terminal cover (A, B), then remove the busbar (C) fromm the MPI Module.
- Remove the busbars (A, B) from the DC-DC converter.
- Remove the clips on the harness (A, B) then remove the MCM bracket (C).
- Disconnect the MPI module connector (A).
- Remove the bolts (B) and the MPI module (C).
- Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.NOTE: If the IMA battery level gauge displays no level, start the engine, and hold the engine speed between 3,500 rpm and 4,000 rpm without load (CVT in P or N, M/T in neutral) until the level gauge will display at least half charged level.
