DTC B1032

DTC B1032  : CDS (Collision Detection Signal) Signal Error

NOTE:  If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A .

DTC Description DTC
B1032 CDS (Collision Detection Signal) Signal Error  

DTC (Body Control Module)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.

    -3. Wait for at least 6 seconds.

    -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
    B1032 CDS (Collision Detection Signal) Signal Error  

    Is DTC B1032 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  2. Open wire check (CDS line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure , and wait for at least 3 minutes.

    -3. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Body control module connector D (40P)SRS unit connector A (34P)

    -4. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Body control module connector D (40P): disconnected
    SRS unit connector A (34P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Body control module connector D (40P) No. 34
    Test point 2 SRS unit connector A (34P) No. 1

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  3. Shorted wire check (CDS line)

    -1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Body control module connector D (40P): disconnected
    SRS unit connector A (34P): disconnected
    Test point 1 SRS unit connector A (34P) No. 1
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there continuity?

    YES 

    Repair a short to ground in the wire.

    NO 

    The CDS wire is OK. Go to step 4.

  4. Body control module check

    -1. Reconnect the following connector.

    Body control module connector D (40P)

    -2. Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure .

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle ON mode
    SRS unit connector A (34P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Body control module connector D (40P) No. 34
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there battery voltage?

    YES 

    Replace the SRS unit .

    NO 

    Replace the body control module .
