How to Check the Audio System Condition

NOTE: 

• Check the vehicle 12 volt battery condition first .
• There may be other self-diagnostic functions that are for factory use only.
• The self-diagnostic function does not find every problem with the audio system.

1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode

2. Press the VOLUME/POWER (

) knob to turn off the audio unit

3. Press and hold the RETURN (

) button and the MENU button

4. While holding the buttons, press the VOLUME/POWER (

5. Release the buttons, and the self-diagnosis begins.

6. When you are in the self-diagnostic mode, pressing the defined button starts the diagnosis that is assigned to that button. To exit this mode, go to step 7. Once you exit this test, you must start again at step 1.

• FM/AM button: Reception level indication mode
• CD/AUX button: Speakers check mode

7. To end the self-diagnostic function, press the VOLUME/POWER (

) knob, or turn the vehicle to the OFF mode.
