Audio System Symptom Troubleshooting Index (With Display Audio (7-inch Screen))

NOTE: Refer to Navigation System Symptom Troubleshooting for information about the symptom of audio-navigation unit which is not in the following table .

Symptom Diagnostic Procedure Also Check for
Poor AM or FM radio reception or interference Go to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING 
Audio unit will not turn on (No information display and no sound) Go to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING   
No sound is heard from all the speakers (display is normal) Go to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING  Aftermarket amplifier or speakers
Audio system sound is weak or distorted (display is normal) Go to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING 
  • Fader and balance positions
  • Disc recording level
  • Aftermarket amplifier or speakers
Radio preset memory is lost Replace the audio unit - Refer to: Audio Unit Removal and Installation(With Normal Audio), or Audio Unit Removal and Installation(With Display Audio (7-inch Screen)), or Audio Unit Removal and Installation(With Color Audio (5-inch Screen)) Internal error
Audio unit button does not work Do the Hard Key in the System Diagnostic Mode - Refer to: Audio System Sound Quality Diagnosis,  or Audio System Diagnostic Mode(With Display Audio (7-inch Screen)),  or Audio System Diagnostic Mode(With Color Audio (5-inch Screen))  Check the connector for poor connections or loose terminals between the audio unit and the audio panel
Audio touch panel does not work Do the Touch Panel Check in the System Diagnostic Mode - Refer to: Audio System Sound Quality Diagnosis,  or Audio System Diagnostic Mode(With Display Audio (7-inch Screen)),  or Audio System Diagnostic Mode(With Color Audio (5-inch Screen))   
Volume does not increase with speed Go to SYMPTOM TROUBLESHOOTING  Speed-sensitive Volume Control settings (see the Owner's Manual)
Volume is too high or too low when driving at freeway speeds   Speed-sensitive Volume Control settings (see the Owner's Manual)
Audio disc does not load
