Intake Manifold Removal & Installation: Installation
NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View if needed during this procedure.
- 1. Fuel Pressure - Relieve
- 2. 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Disconnect
- 3. Air Cleaner - Remove
- 4. Intake Air Duct - Remove
- 5. Throttle Body - Move
NOTE: Do not disconnect the water bypass hoses.
- 6. Fuel Bracket - Remove
- 7. Fuel Feed Hose (Fuel Rail Side) - Disconnect
- 8. Brake Booster Vacuum Hose, Hose, and MAP Sensor Connector - Disconnect
1. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (A), the hoses (B), and the connector (C)
2. Remove the fuel feed pipe (D) from the clamps.
- 9. PCV Hose - Disconnect
1. Disconnect the PCV hose (A)
2. Remove the harness clamp (B).
- 10. Intake Manifold Bracket - Remove
- 11. Intake Manifold Assembly - Remove
- 12. All Removed Parts - Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
- Tighten the bolts/nuts in three steps; tighten the bolts/nuts until the bolts/nuts sit on the intake manifold, tighten the bolts/nuts until the gasket is compressed, tighten the bolts/nuts to specified torque.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel rail will be pressurized. Repeat this two or three times.
- After installation, check that all tubes, hoses, and connectors are installed correctly.
