Engine Removal & Installation: Installation
- 1. Lower Torque Rod Bracket - Install.
1. If the lower torque rod bracket is removed, install the lower torque rod bracket
NOTE: Always use new bolts.
- 2. Engine - Install
1. Install the universal lifting eyelet to the cam chain case.
2. Position the engine/transmission under the vehicle. Be sure that they are properly aligned. Carefully lower the vehicle until the engine/transmission are properly positioned in the engine compartment. Make sure the vehicle is not resting on any part of the engine/transmission 3. Attach chain hoist (A) to the universal lifting eyelet (B) and the transmission hanger (C), then lift the engine/transmission until it is securely supported by the chain hoist.
- 3. Transmission Mount Bracket Mounting Bolt and Nut - Loosely Install
1. Loosely install new transmission mount bolt and nuts (A)
2. Connect the ground cable (B).
- 4. Engine - Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
- 5. Chain Hoist and Universal Lifting Eyelet - Remove
- 6. Side Engine Mount - Loosely Install

1. Install the side engine mount (A)
2. Tighten the side engine mount mounting bolts (B)
3. Loosely install new side engine mount bracket mounting bolt and nut (C)
4. Connect the ground cable (D).
- 7. Upper Torque Rod - Loosely Install
- 8. Vehicle - Lift
1. Raise the vehicle.
- 9. Front Subframe - Support
1. Attach the subframe adapter to the front subframe by looping the strap (A) over the front of the front subframe, then secure the strap with the stop (B), then tighten the wing nut (C)
2. Raise the transmission jack and line up the slots in the subframe adapter arms with the bolt holes on the jack base, then securely attach them with four bolts.
- 10. Front Subframe - Install
1. Loosely install new front subframe mounting bolts
2. Remove the subframe adapter from the front subframe.
3. Loosely install the front subframe mid bolt (A) on both sides. - 11. Engine - Support
1. Lift and support the engine with a transmission jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
- 12. Lower Torque Rod Mounting Bolt - Loosen and Loosely Install
1. Loosen the lower torque rod mounting bolt (A)
2. Loosely install new lower torque rod mounting bolts (B).
- 13. Front Engine Mount Mounting Bolt - Loosely Install
1. Loosely install new front engine mount mounting bolt.
- 14.All Engine Mount Mounting Bolt/Nut - Tighten
- 15.Connector (EPS) - Connect
- 16.Front Driveshaft - Install
- 17.Tie-Rod End Ball Joint - Connect
- 18.Front Stabilizer Link - Connect
- 19.Exhaust Pipe A, Exhaust Pipe Bracket, and Under-Floor TWC - Install
NOTE: Connect the secondary HO2S connector at the same time.
- 20.Rear Driveshaft Removal & Installation (AWD/4WD)

- 22. Lower Radiator Hose - Connect
- 23.Splash Shield - Install
- 24.Front Wheel - Install
- 25. Vehicle - Lift
1. Lower the vehicle.
- 26.Steering Joint - Connect
- 27. A/C Compressor - Install
- 28.Alternator - Install
- 29.Shift Cable (Transmission Side) - Connect
- 30. Heater Hose and Upper Radiator Hose - Connect
1. Connect the heater hoses (A) and the upper radiator hose (B).
- 31. EVAP Canister Purge Hose and Brake Booster Vacuum Hose - Connect
1. Connect the EVAP canister purge hose (A) and the brake booster vacuum hose (B).
- 32.Fuel Feed Hose (Fuel Rail Side) - Connect
- 33. Harness Holder - Install
- 34. Connector (Engine Wire Harness) - Connect
1. Connect the connectors (A), and install the harness clamps (B).
- 35. Positive Cable (Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box) - Connect
- 36. 12 Volt Battery Base - Install
1. Install the 12 volt battery base (A) and the harness clamps (B).
- 37. PCM With Bracket - Install
1. Install the PCM with bracket (A).
2. Install the harness clamps (B).
- 38. Intake Air Pipe - Install
- 39. Intake Air Duct - Install
- 40.Air Cleaner - Install
- 41.12 Volt Battery - Install
- 42. Fuel Leak - Check
1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel rail will be pressurized. Repeat these two or three times, then check for fuel leakage.
- 43.Engine Oil - Refill
- 44.Transmission Fluid - Refill
- 45.Engine Coolant - Refill
- 46.Fuel Leak (High Pressure) - Check
- 47. Fluid Leak - Check
- 48. Transmission Gear - Check
1. Move the shift lever to each shift position, and verify that the A/T gear position indicator follows the transmission range switch.
- 49.Left Front Fender Trim - Install
- 50.PCM - Reset
- 51.CKP Pattern - Clear/Learn
- 52.Idle Speed - Inspect
- 53.Ignition Timing - Inspect
- 54.Wheel Alignment - Check
- 55.VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorize
- 56.Steering Angle Sensor Neutral Position - Clear
