DTC 93-01: Check Data Communication to LKAS Unit/Multipurpose Camera Unit

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the how to troubleshooting information - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) .

DTC (EPS (LKAS))

• 1. Problem verification:

  1. Turn the vehicle to ON mode.

  2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

  3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then back to the ON mode.

  4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

  Is DTC 93-01 indicated?

  YES 

  Go to the step 2.

  NO 

  Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

• 2. Open wire check (F-CAN_H, F-CAN_L lines):

  1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

  2. Disconnect the following connectors.

  EPS control unit connector A (11P)

  Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector

  3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

  Test condition	Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
  	EPS control unit connector A (11P): disconnected
  	Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector
  Test point 1	EPS control unit connector A (11P) No. 7
  Test point 2	Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector No. 2

  Test point 1	EPS control unit connector A (11P) No. 9
  Test point 2	Multipurpose camera unit 20P connector No. 13

  Is there continuity?

  YES 

  The F-CAN_H and F-CAN_L wires are OK. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the EPS control unit and the multipurpose camera unit. Update the multipurpose camera unit if it does not have the latest software, then retest. If the DTC is still present, replace the multipurpose camera unit .

  NO 

  Repair an open in the wire between the EPS control unit and the multipurpose camera unit.
