Tailpipe Emissions Test: Test

  1. HDS - Connect 
  2. Tailpipe Emissions - Test
    1. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3, 000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.

    2. Check the idle speed within specification 

    3. Warm up and calibrate the CO meter according to the meter manufacturer's instructions.

    4. Check idle CO with the headlights, heater blower, rear window defogger, cooling fan, and air conditioner off.

    Specified CO: 0.1 % max. 

    • If unable to obtain this reading; see DTC troubleshooting .
    • If unable to obtain a CO reading of specified % by this procedure, check the tune-up condition.
