AC Inverter Unit Input Test (2020 2021 2022 2023)

NOTE:  Before testing, make sure the fuses associated with the system is OK.

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2. Disconnect the AC inverter unit connectors.

Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
A2 RED Vehicle ACCESSORY or ON mode Connect terminal No. B7 to ground with jumper wire, and measure the voltage between terminal No. A2 and ground:There should be battery voltage.
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
  • Faulty AC inverter relay
  • Faulty AC inverter ACC relay
B7 RED
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
B1 BLU Vehicle ACCESSORY or ON mode, and AC power outlet switch pressed Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
  • Faulty AC power outlet switch
  • Faulty AC inverter ACC relay
B7 RED Disconnect the under-dash fuse/relay box connector N (20P), and remove the AC inverter relay Check for continuity to ground:There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the wire
B6 BLK Disconnect the under-dash fuse/relay box connector D (44P) Check for continuity between terminal No. B6 and under-dash fuse/relay box connector D (44P) terminal No. 40:There should be continuity. An open or high resistance in the wire

Reconnect the connectors, and do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
A1 BLK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground:There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G605)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
