DTC (PGM-FI)

  1. Problem verification

-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

-5. Select the EVAP TEST in the Function Test menu, then select the FUNCTION TEST with the HDS.

NOTE: Perform the procedure with the fuel level is below 85 %.

    EVAP TEST

Are both DTC P00FE and P2451 results OK?

    YES

If the test result is PASSED, there is an intermittent failure and the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the fuel vapor containment valve and the PCM. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot .

    NO

    Go to step 2.

  2. Vent tube visual check

-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

-2. Remove the fuel tank .

-3. Disconnect the vent tube (A) between the fuel vapor containment valve (B) and EVAP canister.

-4. Check for a blockage in the vent tube.

    Is the vent tube OK?

    YES

    Go to step 3.

    NO

Remove the blockage in the vent tube (EVAP canister side).

  3. Fuel vapor containment valve check

-1. Remove the fuel vapor containment valve from the fuel tank .

-2. Disconnect the vent tube (EVAP canister side) from the fuel vapor containment valve (A). Connect the vacuum hose (B) to the fuel vapor containment valve, then connect a vacuum pump/gauge, 0-30 inHg, to the vacuum hose as shown.

-3. Connect the fuel vapor containment valve 2P connector.

-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

-5. Slowly apply vacuum to the hose.

-6. Select the EVAP TEST in the Function Test menu, then select the SINGLE SOLENOID TEST with the HDS.

    EVAP TEST

-7. Select the Fuel Vapor Containment Valve (FTCV) in the SINGLE SOLENOID MENU with the HDS.

    Does the vacuum release immediately?

    YES

    Go to step 4.

    NO

Replace the fuel vapor containment valve .

  4. FTP sensor performance check

-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

-2. Install all removed parts .

-3. Remove the access panel .

-4. Remove the FTP sensor with its connector connected .

NOTE: The FTP sensor can be removed without removing the fuel tank.

-5. Connect the T-fitting (A), the vacuum pump/gauge, 0-30 inHg, and the vacuum pump to the FTP sensor (B) as shown.

    Tank Internal Pressure

    Data List

    Does the value change?

    YES

Check for blockage in the vent tube between the fuel tank and the fuel vapor containment valve. If there is no blockage, replace the vent tube.

    NO

Check for the blockage in the FTP sensor port. If there is no blockage, replace the FTP sensor .
