Symptom Troubleshooting Using the Security Indicator Lighting Pattern

The pattern of the security indicator can help troubleshoot the condition of the immobilizer system. Here are descriptions of the four possible patterns:

Normal operation:

When turning the vehicle to the ON mode and the immobilizer code is identified, the security indicator is OFF.

Immobilizer code is not identified:

When turning the vehicle to the ON mode when the immobilizer code has not been identified, the security indicator blink until the OFF (LOCK) mode is selected. Then security indicator will come on for 1 second. The state of the keyless registration and the S-NET line can be checked by doing a SYSTEM CHECK  and STATUS LOG  with the HDS.

Security indicator turns on:

If the security indicator turns on, do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function . If the indicator drive circuit is OK, do the SYSTEM CHECK  and STATUS LOG  with the HDS.
