DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P26E0 (587), P26E0 (587) (Traction Motor Control Module)
DTC P26E0 (587): VCU I1 Current Sensor Power Supply Circuit Low (Traction Motor Control Module Detected)DTC P26E0 (587): VCU I1 Current Sensor Power Supply Circuit Low (Generator Motor Control Module Detected)
General Description
The motor control module applies 5 V to the I1 current sensor A, I1 current sensor B and monitors the voltage. When the voltage is a specified value for a set time, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
| Execution | Continuous |
| Sequence | None |
| Duration | 500 milliseconds or more |
| DTC Type | One drive cycle, MIL on, POWER SYSTEM indicator on, 12 volt battery charging system indicator off |
Enable Conditions
| Condition | Minimum | Maximum | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 volt battery voltage | 6.5 V | - | |
Malfunction Threshold
The I1 current sensor A and the I1 current sensor B voltage is 2.5 V or less for at least 500 milliseconds.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- I1 current sensor A power supply line short to ground
- I1 current sensor B power supply line short to ground
- I1 current sensor A failure
- I1 current sensor B failure
- Motor control module failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on, and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the motor control module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL and the POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
