DTC P24BA, P24BB (2018 2019)
DTC P24BA: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Leak Check Module Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
DTC P24BB: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Leak Check Module Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit High Voltage
General Description
The leak detection pressure sensor is a sensor used for leak detection of the fuel tank. The limit of the leak check detection pressure sensor output is specified. If the output is exceed that limit, the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
| Execution | Once per driving cycle |
| Sequence | None |
| Duration | 3 seconds or more |
| DTC Type | Two drive cycles, MIL on |
Enable Conditions

Malfunction Threshold
DTC: P24BA
The leak check module absolute pressure sensor output level is 49 kPa (373 mmHg, 14 inHg) or less for at least 3 seconds.
DTC: P24BB
The leak check module absolute pressure sensor output level is 118 kPa (892 mmHg, 34 inHg) or more for at least 3 seconds.
Possible Cause
- Leak detection pressure sensor P/SNSR1 OUT line short to power
- Leak detection pressure sensor P/SNSR1 OUT line open
- Leak detection pressure sensor P/SNSR1 OUT line short to ground
- Leak detection pressure sensor SG line open
- Leak detection pressure sensor VCC line open
- Leak detection pressure sensor out of range
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait for at least 3 seconds.
With the HDS
None.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
