DTC P0071 : Outside Air Temperature Sensor A Out of Range
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- For the outside temperature sensor circuit diagram, refer to the climate control system circuit diagram .

DTC (PGM-FI)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 8 seconds.
-5. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC P0071 Outside Air Temperature Sensor A Out of Range DTC (PGM-FI)
Is DTC P0071 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at outside air temperature sensor A and the climate control unit. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot .

-1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC P0071 Outside Air Temperature Sensor A Out of Range P0073 Outside Air Temperature Sensor A Circuit High DTC (PGM-FI)
Are DTC P0071 and P0073 indicated at the same time?
YES
Go to the DTC P0073 troubleshooting .
NO
Go to step 3.
- DTC check
-1. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC P0071 Outside Air Temperature Sensor A Out of Range P0072 Outside Air Temperature Sensor A Circuit Low DTC (PGM-FI)
Are DTC P0071 and P0072 indicated at the same time?
YES
Go to the DTC P0072 troubleshooting .
