DTC (Gear)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Turn the vehicle to the READY TO DRIVE mode.
-5. While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to N position/mode, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
-6. While pressing the brake pedal, shift the transmission to P position/mode, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
-7. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC Freeze Frame P084F Park/Neutral Switch Output Circuit Is DTC P084F indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections and loose terminals between the SBW shifter control module and the body control module. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- SBW shifter control module internal ATP-P line check
-1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode Test point 1 SBW shifter control module 20P connector No. 14 Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Faulty SBW shifter control module. Replace the SBW shifter assembly .
NO
The SBW shifter control module internal ATP-P line is OK. Go to step 3.
- Shorted wire check (ATP-P line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
SBW shifter control module 20P connector -3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 while disconnecting following connector.
Body control module connector C (28P) Power seat control unit connector A (20P) Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode SBW shifter control module 20P connector: disconnected Test point 1 SBW shifter control module 20P connector No. 14 Test point 2 Body ground Does continuity go away when the connector is disconnected?
YES
Replace the part that any resistance was detected when it was disconnected.
NO
Repair a short to ground in the ATP-P wire between the SBW shifter control module and the body control module or the power seat control unit.
