DTC P16E3: General Description
The 12 volt battery sensor measures the 12 volt battery's current, voltage, and temperature. It is connected to the gauge control module by the local interconnect network (LIN) line, and transmits/receives 12 volt battery sensor information to/from the powertrain control module (PCM) via the controller area network (CAN) line. The LIN communication abnormality between the 12 volt battery sensor and the gauge control module is detected by the gauge control module and sent to the PCM via the CAN line. If the PCM receives abnormal communication, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.
