Auto Idle Stop System Symptom Troubleshooting - Starter System Counter Inspection (2022 2023)

Starter System Counter Inspection 

NOTE: This vehicle has a function to count the number of starter operations. If the starter operation exceeds the specified number, the auto idle stop system indicator (amber) blinks or the starter system indicator turns on - Refer to: How to Troubleshoot the Fuel and Emissions Systems or How to Troubleshoot the Brake Booster Pressure Monitoring System , as a starter system warning message. To turn off the warning message, you must replace the parts that require maintenance and clear the starter counter.
  1. PGM-FI system check

    -1. Select the PGM-FI system with the HDS.

    -2. Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC (PGM-FI)

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting - Refer to: Brake Booster Pressure Monitoring System DTC Troubleshooting Index or Fuel and Emissions Systems DTC Troubleshooting Index (2021) or Fuel and Emissions Systems DTC Troubleshooting Index (2019 2020) or Fuel and Emissions Systems DTC Troubleshooting Index (2022 2023) .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. Starter system counter inspection

    -1. Check the starter counter value with the HDS.

    Do the following works depending on the starter counter value.

    NOTICE: 

    Replacing parts and clearing the starter counter should always be done as a set.

    IDLE STOP STARTER COUNTER CHECK

    IDLE STOP STARTER COUNTER CLEAR

    Starter Counter Value (HDS [IDLE STOP STARTER COUNTER CHECK] in the PGM-FI INSPECTION MENU) Parts that Need to be Replaced Starter Counter Clear(HDS [IDLE STOP STARTER COUNTER CLEAR] in the PGM-FI ADJUSTMENT MENU)
    Below 275, 000 times (Not needed) (Not needed)
    Above 275, 000 times Need to do

    Is the work according to the starter counter value completed?

    1. YES 

      The starter counter system is OK.

      NO 

      Complete the work by replacing the appropriate parts and clearing the starter counter.
