Engine Support Hanger Installation: Installation

NOTE:
  • Where icon is shown, click for further information.
  • When Removing Transmission: Special tool engine support hanger AAR-T1256 must be used with the side engine mount installed.

When Removing The Oil Pump Chain 

  1. Vehicle - Lift
  2. Right Front Wheel - Remove
  3. Engine Undercover - Remove
  4. Front Grille Cover - Remove
  5. Air Cleaner Housing Assembly - Remove
  6. Coolant Reservoir - Move
  7. Drive Belt Auto-Tensioner - Remove
  8. Cylinder Head Cover - Remove
  9. Cam Chain Guide B - Remove
  10. Cam Chain - Remove
  11. Alternator - Disconnect

  12. Engine Support Hanger - Install
    NOTE:
    • Be careful when working around the windshield.
    • Be careful not to damage the hood opener cable when installing the engine support hanger at the front bulkhead.

    1. Remove the front damper caps .

    2. Install the universal lifting eyelet.

    NOTE: Make sure the universal lifting eyelet does not interfere with the surrounding parts.

    Tool Details 

    Name
    a Bolt (Commercially Available)

    3. Install the engine support hanger onto the vehicle as shown.

    4. Attach the hook (b) to the slotted hole in the universal lifting eyelet.

    5. Tighten the wing nut (c) by hand to support the engine/transmission.

    When Removing The Transmission 

  13. Vehicle - Lift
  14. Front Grille Cover - Remove
  15. Air Cleaner Area Parts - Remove
    • Air Cleaner Area
      1. -

        Air Cleaner Housing Assembly

      2. -

        Air Flow Tube

      3. -

        Powertrain Control Module (PCM)

  16. 12 Volt Battery Base Bracket - Remove
  17. CVTF Warmer - Remove
    • CVTF Warmer
      NOTE:
      • Do not disconnect the CVTF warmer hoses.
      • Put a plastic bag over the CVTF warmer, then move it to the side.
  18. Tube Clamp Stay - Remove
  19. Engine Support Hanger - Install
    NOTE:
    • Be careful when working around the windshield.
    • Be careful not to damage the hood opener cable when installing the engine support hanger at the front bulkhead.

    1. Remove the front damper caps .

    2. Install the universal lifting eyelet.

    NOTE: Make sure the universal lifting eyelet does not interfere with the surrounding parts.

    Tool Details 

    Name
    a Spacer (Commercially Available)
    b Bolt (Commercially Available)

    3. Install the engine support hanger onto the vehicle as shown in illustration.

    4. Attach the hook (c) to the slotted hole in the universal lifting eyelet.

    5. Tighten the wing nut (d) by hand to support the engine/transmission.
