Diagnostic procedure

• Test the fuel pressure - Refer to: Fuel Pressure Test or Fuel Pressure Relieving .
• Check the air cleaner element .
• Troubleshoot the VTEC system oil pressure .

Also check for

• Low compression
• Incorrect camshaft timing
• Incorrect engine oil level
• Exhaust restriction
• Fuel contamination
