DTC B12F3 (Keyless Access Power Control Unit): Inspection

+B_TCU [VB1], +B_TCU2 [VB2], +B_TCU3 [VB3], IG1_TCU [IG1], GND [LG1], GND [LG2], IGN_TRX [IGNTRx] Circuit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
  • TCM connector A (23P): disconnected
  • Body control module connector C (66P): disconnected
• Procedure
  • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

	+B_TCU [VB1] circuit inspection	OFF			12 V battery voltage[circuit type 1]
	+B_TCU2 [VB2] circuit inspection	OFF			12 V battery voltage[circuit type 1]
	+B_TCU3 [VB3] circuit inspection	OFF			12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1]
	IG1_TCU [IG1] circuit inspection	ON			12 V battery voltage [circuit type 3]
	GND [LG1] open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	GND [LG2] open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	IGN_TRX [IGNTRx] open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohms
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.

IGN_TRX [IGNTRx] shorted to ground inspection

OFF

There is more than 1 MOhms

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

  If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

TCM Inspection 

NOTE:  Since there is no direct method to test the inspection item, troubleshooting is performed using a known-good component.

Test Procedure 

• Install a known-good TCM and attempt to reproduce the failure.

Results 

• If the failure is reproduced, there is a problem with other related components.
• If the symptom/DTC goes away, the TCM must be faulty.

Body Control Module Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining body control module is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the body control module.
