1. Lift and support the engine with a jack and a wood block under the oil pan.
2. Remove the rear engine mount.

- Do the mount tightening procedure before tightening all of the mount bolts and nuts.

Disconnect:
- Steering Joint
NOTICE:
Do not turn the steering wheel while disconnecting the steering joint.
NOTE: If the center guide is in place, discard it.
- Front Suspension Area Parts
- Front Lower Arm Ball Joint (Both Sides)
- Front Stabilizer Link (Front Stabilizer Bar Side) (Both Sides)

Removal
1. Refer to figure 1.
NOTE:Be careful not to damage the ball joint boots when installing the ball joint remover . (Figure 1)

3. Attach the subframe adapter to the front subframe by looping the belt (a) over the front of the front subframe, then secure the belt with its stop (b), and tighten the wing nut (c). (Figure 3)

4. Raise a transmission jack (d) and line up the slots in the subframe adapter arms with the bolt holes on the transmission jack base, then securely attach them with four bolts. (Figure 3)

- VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization - Refer to: VSA Modulator-Control Unit Update () or VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization ()

NOTICE:
Using clean solvent and a brush, wash any oil and dirt off the end of the steering gearbox, and blow dry with compressed air.

After Installation
- 12 Volt Battery Negative Terminal Reconnect
- EPS Control Unit Update - Refer to: Steering Angle Neutral Position Learning () or EPS Control Unit Update () (If the EPS control unit does not have the latest software)
- Check these items:
- With the front wheels straight ahead, make sure the steering wheel is centered and the turning revolutions from center to full lock (left and right) is equal. If not, check the installation of the steering wheel and the engagement of the joint/pinion shaft splines.
- With the tires raised off the ground, check for noise and abnormality by turning the steering wheel fully to the right and left several times.
- Check the power steering assist .
- Check that the EPS indicator does not come on.
- Wheel Alignment Check
- VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization - Refer to: VSA Modulator-Control Unit Update () or VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization ()
