    WARNING:  

    • Review the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service .
    • Wait at least 3 minutes, after disconnecting the 12 volt battery terminal.

    NOTICE:  

    • Be careful not to bump (by impact wrench, hammer, etc.) the area around the SRS unit.

    Preconditions 

    • 12 Volt Battery Negative Terminal Disconnected

    Sub-Procedure 

    Installation 

    NOTICE:  

    Before installing the center console cover, make sure the SRS indicator works normally.

    Tightening Procedure

    After Installation 

    • 12 Volt Battery Negative Terminal Reconnect
    • ECU Key Write (only when replacing SRS unit) .
    • Make sure the SRS unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the SRS unit .
    • Yaw Rate-Acceleration Neutral Position Memorization - Refer to: VSA Modulator-Control Unit Update () or VSA Sensor Neutral Position Memorization ()

      NOTICE:  

      After replacing the SRS unit with a new one, memorize the yaw rate-acceleration neutral position.

    • Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Initialization - Refer to: Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Initialization () or Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Operation Check After Replacing Front Passenger's Seat Component(s) () or Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Output Check After a Vehicle Collision ()

      NOTE:  After replacing the SRS unit with a new one, initialize the front passenger's weight sensors.

    • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
