Starter System Circuit Troubleshooting: Notes

How to use this manual .

NOTE: 

• The ambient air temperature must be between 59-100°F (15-38°C) during this procedure.
• The 12 volt battery must be in good condition and fully charged.
• If you cannot enter the HDS [System Selection Menu] during troubleshooting, go to the keyless access system symptom troubleshooting; "Cannot select ON mode with keyless access and with the keyless remote touching the engine start/stop switch" - Refer to: Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - The engine starts but stalls immediately () or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - Cannot select ON mode with keyless access, but can select ON mode with the keyless remote touching the engine start/stop switch () or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - Cannot select ON mode with keyless access and with the keyless remote touching the engine start/stop switch () or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - All the doors will not lock and unlock () or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - Immobilizer/security indicator blinks () or Keyless Access System Symptom Troubleshooting - The doors will not unlock or lock with the keyless remote, but will unlock or lock with the door outer handles () .
• After the inspection, you must reset the PCM - Refer to: PCM Update () or PCM Reset () . Otherwise, the PCM will continue to stop the fuel injectors from operating.
