DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P0107, P0108: General Description

The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor measures the pressure or vacuum in the manifold. This measurement is converted into an electrical signal which the powertrain control module (PCM) uses to monitor the engine. The MAP sensor outputs low signal voltage at high vacuum (throttle valve closed) and high signal voltage at low vacuum (throttle valve wide open). If the MAP sensor output voltage is excessively high or low, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
