DTC P26E5 : Starter Cut Relay 2 Control Circuit Low Voltage
General Description
The starter motor is controlled by on/off of starter cut relay 1 circuit and starter cut relay 2 circuit to start the engine. The monitor circuit in the powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the voltage level of the ST_CUT_RLY2_CL- terminal. If the voltage level is abnormal, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The ST_CUT_RLY2_CL- terminal voltage level is on (low voltage) for at least 5 seconds despite the PCM outputs off to starter cut relay 2.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- Starter cut relay 2 circuit ST_CUT_RLY2_CL- line short to ground
- Starter cut relay 2 circuit ST_CUT_RLY2_CL- line open
- PCM internal circuit failure

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot are stored in the PCM memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, the freeze data, and the on-board snapshot can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
